Remark® ZERO EMISSIONS Filter Bags: Setting the Benchmark at the World’s Largest Furnace Installation

News

We are proud to highlight our recent achievement with the installation of Remark® ZERO EMISSIONS filter bags at the world’s largest suspension furnace and electric furnace setup. This project underscores our commitment to advancing filtration technology in some of the most challenging industrial environments.

A Milestone in Filtration Excellence

The latest installation, which focuses on dust removal from the de-coppering process in the ventilation system of an electric furnace, exemplifies the capabilities of our cutting-edge filtration solutions. Our Remark® GL75GL.MT.034 filter bags, featuring glass fabrics with PTFE membranes, were deployed to address the demanding conditions of smelting concentrate in a flash furnace and de-coppering slag for copper recovery.

Key project specifics include:

  • Operational Conditions: Dust-laden gases cooled to temperatures between 220°C and 260°C
  • Nominal Throughput under operating conditions: 650,000 m³/h
  • Filtration Area: 14,000 m²
  • Regeneration System: “On-line” filter material regeneration
  • Gas Dust Content After the Filter: ≤ 1 mg/Nm³

Superior Filtration Performance

Our filter bags, enhanced with RKDTD seam sealing® technology, have achieved remarkable results in this extensive installation. The filtration system consistently meets and exceeds emission standards, with dust concentrations in exhaust gases reliably staying below 1 mg/Nm³.

Dust concentration in exhaust gases: < 1 mg/Nm³

Why Remark® Filter Bags Stand Out:

  • Filtration Effectiveness of RKDTD Seam Sealing®: This cutting-edge feature enhances the performance and matches the durability of our filter bags themselves.
  • Exceptional Particle Retention Efficiency: The PTFE membrane incorporated into our filter bags captures even the finest particles down to the micron level. This high efficiency is critical for applications demanding stringent air or gas purity.
  • Low Pressure Drop: The PTFE material’s low flow resistance allows for high throughput with minimal pressure drop, optimizing the filtration process and energy consumption.
  • Durability and Longevity: Glass fabrics with PTFE membranes offer robust performance over extended periods. Their resistance to contamination ensures sustained high efficiency, reducing the need for frequent replacements and lowering overall operational costs.

This installation marks a significant achievement in the field of industrial filtration, showcasing the effectiveness of Remark® ZERO EMISSIONS filter bags in handling extreme conditions and maintaining high operational standards. We are excited to continue setting new benchmarks in filtration technology with our innovative solutions.
